(Sarah MARR has not been identified, but there were MARR brickmakers in Retford).
Matthew SMITH, the son of William and Sarah, was bapt. 30th June 1785 at East Retford, Notts.
Matthew married Jane LYNN from Stokeham on 7th Feb 1806 at E. Retford.
Their children bapt. at Retford were - Charles 1806, Elizabeth 1813, then, at Clarborough - William-Lynn 1816,
Sarah 1818, Samuel 1823, Maria 1828 and Jane 1831.
In 1823 - 1828 Matthew was a brick and tile maker of Spital Hill, Clarborough Parish in Retford.
In 1861 Matthew was a brick and tile maker living at Kippax Row, Clarborough Parish in Retford.
Matthew's nephew William SMITH, another brick and tile maker, was living next door
Matthew died in 1864 and Jane in 1865.
Maria SMITH, the daughter of Matthew and Jane, was bapt. 14th July 1828 at Clarborough, (next to Retford).
Maria married Robert Smallwood PIERCY on 20th Feb. 1851 at Clarborough.
