CRAVEN of Ebberston
James CRAVEN was a husbandman living at Croscliffe in Allerston parish.
From his will made in May 1664 he had a wife Mary, a son Christopher and two daughters, Mary and Elizabeth.
Amongst witnesses to his will were William CRAVEN and John CRAVEN.
William may....
John may have been a brother who made a will at Crosscliffe in 1671.

Christopher CRAVEN was a yeoman farmer living at Ebberston.
In his will dated 3rd March 1716 he refers to his wife Mary,
daughter Elizabeth, the wife of Thomas ROGERS,
younger daughters Ellinor and Rachel,
his 4 grandchildren by Bethell CRAVEN and his daughter Mary.

Sons William, James and Charles are not mentioned so presumably they had all pre-deceased him.
His son Charles was buried 5 Sept 1693.
From the Inventory his household and farming assets were valued at £84-16-00.
with debts of £10-00-00.
At the time of his death he was receiving a pension of £18-0-0 p.a.
His immediate bequests totalled £58-0-0.
He willed his widow to make later bequests totalling £160-0-0, which must have been made up from Real Estate not identified.
His daughter Mary and son William were christened at Allerston in 1680 and 1683 respectively, so presumably Christopher lived there at that time. There are CRAVEN family connections with Croscliffe in Allerston parish.
Christopher CRAVEN was buried at Ebberston on 18th April 1716.
In 1722 the beneficiaries of the will of Christopher Craven sold property and land at Overbye in Ebberston to William Thompson for £300.

Mercy CRAVEN, the daughter of Christopher and Mary CRAVEN was born ..... . .
She married Phillip SMALLWOOD on 10 May 1701 at Ebberston. They had 5 children.
Mercy was buried on 22 April 1754 at Allerston.

Harrington House.
The inventory of a Richard CRAVEN in 1680/81 mentions 'possessions in Harrington House'.
A James CRAVEN willed the house to his wife Ursula in 1689, but it is not? mentioned in the Inventory/Admon(no will) of Ursula in 1707/8.
