William JACKSON, the son of John and Elizabeth, was bapt. 18th April 1731 at North
when his parents were living at Smithy Moor.
With a wife Mary they had 8 children bapt. at North Wingfield :- twins Mary and Sarah
William 1761; William 1762; Docey 1765; Hannah 1768; Thomas 1771; and George
From the Baptism Register entries William and Mary were at Stretton from 1756 to
and at Smithy Moor 1768 to 1774.
Docey JACKSON, the daughter of William and Mary, was bapt. 26th September 1765 at North
(Docey is a derivative from her aunt Theodosia). Docey married Joshua WARD on 5th August 1782 at
North Wingfield. She died at North Wingfield on 13th August 1832 aged 66 years. The gravestone of
Docey and Joshua survives in N. Wingfield church yard.
