VAZEY
Of Wykeham, Yorkshire.
These earlier records of the VAZEYs are during the Commonwealth Period of 1649 - 1660,
when any surviving civil records are of births and burials. There are other
contemporary VAZEYs in Wykeham.
Thomas VAZEY, a yeoman of Ruston in Wykeham Parish, and his wife Anna had 3 known children:-
an un-named infant buried 19th November 1658;
a daughter Mary was born 30th March 1659;
a son Christopher was born 9th April 1660.
Maria VAZEY, the daughter of Thomas and Anna, married John CARR on 30th November 1679 at Wykeham.
and -
Richard VAZEY married Hanna CARR on 30th November 1679 at Wykeham.
It seems likely that there is some connection between Maria VAZEY and Richard VAZEY
and between
John CARR and Hanna CARR.
Thomas VAZEY was buried 4th March 1670 and his widow Anna was buried 12th September 1671 at Wykeham.
The name VAZEY may be derived from the de VESCEYs of the same area.
